Physics Intergroup Postgraduate Committee invites all the fellow physicists to the Presentation Skills Workshop

Our guest speaker, Piero Vitelli, will be your guide in learning how to produce the perfect seminar. Piero runs Island 41, a consultancy company dedicated to improving communication by providing training in a diverse range of topics including presentation, interaction and leadership.

Topics covered during the workshop will include the following, but will not exclude any particular issues or questions raised during the afternoon:

   * How to prepare and structure a presentation
   * How to have an effect on your audience
   * How to deliver your message effectively
   * How to make your presentation memorable
   * How to cope with excessive nerves
   * How to handle awkward questions

    14:00 to 16:00 Thursday 20th September 2007
    Seminar room at the Centre for Science at Extreme Conditions (CSEC)
    (Bring your own mug for tea or coffee.)

The CSEC seminar room is 3.3808 in the Erskine Williamson Building on the King's Buildings Campus. You can get to this room through the passage on level 3 of the James Clerk Maxwell Building. If you need directions, just ask.
