This course will provide a comprehensive and contemporary overview of theoretic and applied topics in Quantum Communication and Networking. The theory part will provide background on open and closed quantum systems, quantum optics of single and few-photon states, entanglement theory and quantum key distribution and networking paradigms. The applied part will touch on physical implementations of quantum key distribution (QKD), on components and protocols required for networks, and satellite QKD. Two lectures delivered by industry partners will introduce commercial aspects of QKD implementations and deployed quantum networking scenarios.
